The Garden of Plants and Nature (JPN

Commonly called JPN in the heart of the city of Porto-Novo, the Jardin des Plantes and the Nature was the sacred forest of the Kingdom of Porto-Novo in which the King came consult the oracle and make sacrifices. After the colonial period, it was transformed into a botanical garden which also acts as a park for relaxation and recreation. It spans a area of 3.6 hectares and is characterized by lush greenery associated with a rich floristic heritage. The latter is composed of iroko, caïlcedrat, kapok tree, gigantic trees, medicinal, historical, food, fishery plants ... Without forget the presence of monkeys wandering the alleys and an overflowing stream fishes. A place for walks and nature education, suitable for peaceful day.
