The Afro-Brazilian houses (Porto-Novo)

In Porto-Novo, the Afro-Brazilians are a middle class. These are some Africans who were deported to Brazil during the slave trade but returned to Africa for build a community. The architecture of their house, commonly called baroque, is often peculiar and we notice a gap between the buildings of the city and those of Afro-Brazilian. The ‘’ Oganla ’’ district and its surroundings are home to a significant number of Afro-Brazilian houses.
