The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Ouidah)

Built in 1903, it is an initiative of Monsignor Louis Dartois. Erected opposite the Temple of the Pythons, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is the expression of religious cohesion between animists and Catholic Christians. Its period of construction coincides with the arrival of European missionaries as part of the evangelization of African territories.
