LOKOLI forest (ZOGBODOMEY)


Located in the south of Benin and off the beaten track, the Lokoli forest is a forest Unique marshland that spans about 500 hectares. It abounds in several species in endangered including red-bellied monkeys. Human pressure from activities of the local population poses a threat to this rare ecosystem.

The visit to the forest of Lokoli is usually done on a dugout canoe along a permanent waterway in walk in order to enjoy the natural freshness, to contemplate the heritage of the site, to discover local life as well as local know-how.
